Wiener Ärzteball
(every year - always last Saturday in January)
It would be a shame to visit Vienna without brushing up your waltz
and heading for one of the city's renowned balls. There's a wide
range to choose from, but the one to go for is probably the Wiener
Ärzteball in the stunning ballrooms of Vienna's Hofburg, famous
for its elaborate and splendid decorations.
There's a strict dress code (dresses have to be ankle length, and
men have to wear white tie or uniform), and the ball sells out
astonishingly quickly every year, but if you can act quickly or
wangle an invitation, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
