This very elaborate fan features an ivory ribbing and
double cotton leaf. On the recto, the beautiful painting
represents Rubens' Battle Of The Amazons, and on the
verso appears a reproduction of Tiepolo's Neptune
Offering Gifts To Venice. Small flowers with golden
volutes and patterns are painted on the leaf corners.
The ribbing is beautifully carved and pierced by
hand. When unfold, the fan is about 46.5 by 25 cm (18
½ by 10 inches), and when
closed, it is 25 cm (10 inches) long.
