Here is a fan with a rosewood ribbing, nicely pierced
and carved, decorated and lacquered by hand. The double
cotton leaf features, on the recto, a beautiful painting
representing a pastoral scene, and on the verso, a
complementary painting representing a landscape with a
tree (not shown here). The size of the unfold fan is
about 48 by 25.5 cm (19 by 10 inches), and when closed
it is 25.5 cm (10 inches) long.
