The painting on the recto of this impressive fan
represents "El Tribunal de las Aguas" (The Court Of The
Waters), a painting by Ferrandiz. The ribbing is made of
bone, beautifully carved, pierced, decorated and
lacquered by hand. On the verso, a complementary
painting represents a typical Valencian thatched house
and a small landscape (not shown here) The size of the
unfold fan is about 50 by 26.5 cm (19
¾ by 10
½ inches), and when closed it is 26.5 cm (10
½ inches) long.
